Part 16 - Create a Drawing. Set the main mode to "Polyline". Set the Type to "Freehand". Click on the "Geometry..." button. In the "Perimeter" points list, enter five coordinates (one triplet per line): 0.5,0.5,0 : 10.5,0.5,0 : 10.5,8,0 : 0.5,8,0 : 0.5,0.5,0. Click on "Ok". This will create a rectangle that will function as a border (0.5" from the edges of an 11x8.5" piece of paper). Select "Region..." from the main Workspace menu. Click on "Auto Adjust" and then click on "Apply". Click on the Polyline "Geometry..." button again. Enter the polyline coordinates: 7,0.5,0 : 7,1.5,0 : 10.5,1.5,0. Click on "Ok". Select "Pattern..." from the main Resources menu. In the "Define Fill Patterns" dialog, set the "Cross-Hatch Angle" to 45. Set the "Cross-Hatch Spacing" to 4. Enter the pattern name: P1 . Click on "Create". The fill pattern "P1" is created. Click on the "Close" button. Select "Attributes..." from the main Resources menu. The "Current Attributes" dialog shows all the default settings for newly-created entities. Note that the default fill pattern is now "P1" (the other possible setting is "Solid"). Leave all the settings as they are and click on "Cancel". Switch the main mode to "Polygon". Set the Type to "Freehand". Click on the "Geometry..." button. Enter the perimeter points as: 7,0.5,0 : 10.5,0.5,0 : 10.5,1,0 : 7,1,0. Click on "Ok". The newly-created polygon has the "P1" fill pattern. Select "Font..." from the main Resources menu. In the "Define Fonts" dialog, set the Font Type to "True Type". Set the True Type font to "Arial" (or any similar font). Enter the font name: F1. Click on "Create". The font "F1" is created. Click on "Close". Switch the main mode to "Annotate". Note that the current font is "F1". Click on the "Text..." button. In the "Text" field, type: STAR . Enter a text size of 0.4,0.4 . Leave the text Spacing at 0. Set the "Alignment" to "Center". Leave the Text Baseline and Text Up Vector as is. Click on "Ok". Now that an annotation is defined, it can be placed on the drawing. Click on "Position...". In the Annotate Position dialog, set the "Position" to: 8.75,1.1,0. Click on "Ok". The annotation "STAR" has been added to the title block. The drawing border with title block is now complete. Set the main mode back to "Polyline". Set the polyline type to "Freehand" and click on "Geometry...". Enter two polyline points (one per line): 0,0,0 : 0,1,0. Click on "Ok". Change the main mode to "Select" and click on the line to select it. Switch the main mode to "Replicate". Set the replicate mode to "Angular" and enter 4 for the number of copies. Click on "Vector...". In the Angular Replication dialog, leave the rotation axis vector as 0,0,1 (Z axis). Leave the Rotation Axis Point at 0,0,0. Set the rotation increment at 72 (degrees). Leave the "Upright Mode" Off. Click on "Ok". Adjust the Workspace Region , as necessary, to see the five radial lines. |
