Part 10 - Sculpting From A Sketch - continued.

Continue sculpting other parts of the flamingo, alligator, etc.

Set the main mode to "Region". Click on "Reset" to clear any existing region. Set the region definition mode to "Text". Click on "Geometry...". In the text dialog, type "FLORIDA" for the text. Set the text Height to 60 and the Character Spacing to 20. Set the Baseline Type to "Arc". Set the Arc Center Point to 330.5, 330.5 (these are grid coordinates). Set the "Relative Radius Point" to 0, 250. Set the Font Type to "True Type". From the font list, select a suitable font such as "Lydian Bold BT" (different computers may have different True Type fonts installed as part of their operating systems). Click on "Display" to preview the text as blue outlines on the sculpture grid. Adjust the text parameters as necessary and then click on "Ok". Use the "Plateau" and/or "Bulge" functions to emboss the text region. With some practice, you will be able create a sculpted surface like this:

Experiment with the Display mode "Special Rendering" settings to create metallic luster effects.
An additional tutorial on image embossing/carving is available on the VS3D web site:
