VScad3 Geometric Entities

2.4.6 Solid mode.

This mode is used for creating solids of various types. In this mode, no mouse clicks have any effect. All solids are created via the solid "Geometry..." button.

Solids are very similar to Surfaces, except that solids are fully enclosed. The Geometry dialogs for creating solids are identical to those used when creating surfaces. The only exception is that the Solid "Extrusion" and "Revolution" dialogs do not have a setting for the perimeter open/close type, because solids always close the perimeters automatically.

"Type" : Use this list to select the type of solid to create.

"Geometry..." : This button will bring up the solid geometry dialog. The contents of this dialog depend upon the type of solid being created.

  • "Cylindrical" : This is the same as the cylindrical surface dialog. See Section 2.4.5C.

  • "Spherical" : This is the same as the spherical surface dialog. See Section 2.4.5D.

  • "Extrusion" : This is the same as the extrusion surface dialog. See Section 2.4.5E.

  • "Revolution" : This is the same as the revolution surface dialog. See Section 2.4.5F.
